The Questions

I have had many people ask me about copying and saving pictures from the website.  Many of you have asked what you can do with the pics and whether you can save them, use them, print them, etc.  Because of these questions, I want to share with you my policies and guidelines regarding the pictures on this site.

My Start

When I began this site I wanted it to be used as a tool to share pictures of my children (3 Sandites), and their activities, with friends and relatives.  Because of the sheer joy I have of taking pictures, and the joy of trying to 'capture the moment' of activities and events in a picture, I found myself not only taking pictures of my kids and their activities, but taking pictures of other sports & events.  I still enjoy sharing the pictures I take with others.  I not only enjoy sharing my pictures, I am enjoying learning the tweaks of my camera and the fun things that can be done in post-processing.  Basically...I just enjoy my camera and TAKING PICTURES.

What Can Be Done With The Website Pictures

I post pictures on my website mostly in a 650x650 pixel format.  I don't watermark across the main content of a picture because my main purpose is to share pictures, not sell pictures.  A lot of you have asked about saving or copying website pictures to your computer or a disk.  I don't mind if you want to copy pictures from the website to your computer or disk. 

Saving Website Pictures to Disk

To save a picture from the website you can do the following:

• Right mouse click on the picture you want to save or copy

• On the open window, mouse click on 'Save Picture As'

• A window will open that will allow you to save the picture.  In this window you can choose where on your computer to save the picture and to either keep the picture name from the website or to rename it.

• (Remember the location on your computer that you save pictures to)

• Once you save a picture to your computer you can browse the picture locally on your computer anytime.

Finding the Name of a Picture

To find the name of a picture that you want to inquire about, you can do the following:

• Right mouse click on the picture you want to find the name of

• On the open window, mouse click on 'Properties'

• The 'Properties' window will open.  In this window you will see the name of the picture.  The picture name will end with '.jpg'

• Copy down the name of the picture and send it to me in an email

Printing Pictures

I also do not mind if you want to save pictures and then either print them or have them printed.  The pictures on the website will probably print fairly well as a 4"x6" picture.  Since my pictures all contain a copyright watermark (© Wimerville Pics), if you take pictures to a store to print, it is possible that they may not print them without my consent.  If the store(s) you go to will print the pictures regardless of the copyright watermark, I do not mind you printing them.  If you go to a store that requires consent then you will either have to choose a different store or order prints directly from me.  If you order prints from me there will be a charge.

Ordering Prints From Wimerville Pics

If you want prints and do not want to print them yourself, or you would like larger prints or higher resolution (higher quality) prints, you can order pictures from me and I will print them for you using a higher resolution picture.  The most common picture sizes will be 4"x6", 5"x7", 8"x10", 11"x14", 10"x15" & 16"x20".  Many of the pictures I post on the website are not suited for prints larger than 8"x10" (or in some cases larger than 5"x7").  If you want to order from me a large format picture, I will make the decision about whether the picture you want will print well at a particular size.  I will pass my opinion along to you regarding the probable quality.  I WILL BE POSTING MY ORDER PRICES SOON.

Pictures On Disk

At this time I am not selling or providing copies of high resolution pictures via disk.  The current methods of obtaining pictures for personal use is by either downloading them from the website or ordering prints from me.  If you do not want to save pictures from the website yourself, for a fee I will produce 'website quality' pictures on disk.  I will provide pricing for 'website quality' picture on disk soon.  If there is a picture that has your child as its main focus (not group pictures) I will consider selling high resolution picture CDs that are limited to pictures of your children only.  I will not sell high resolution CD pictures of a kid to anyone that is not either the kid's parent or close relative.  Again, I will have to decide on a price for a high resolution picture on disk.

RESTRICTIONS ON COPYING, DOWNLOADING, PRINTING, & USING MY PICTURES.

Unless you have prior consent from me in either a written or electronically signed form (email), you cannot use pictures from my website in any of the below manners.

• You DO NOT have unrestricted use of my pictures.

• You DO NOT have permission to reproduce copies of my pictures and sell them.

• You DO NOT have permission to include and use my pictures in items that you sell (including, but not limited to: videos, CDs, DVDs, VCRs, flyers, pamphlets, books, magazines, newspapers, websites, or any other print or electronic media).

If you have consent from me to use my pictures in any of the above formats, you may not alter the content of my pictures in any manner without additional consent (i.e., no cropping or altering the picture content).
